If you are ever lucky enough to visit Italy, make sure that Milan is on your must see list. The city it very walkable and the metro system is easy to navigate as well.
First stop on our tour – the Cathedral. The Milan Cathedral is as magnificent a building as I’ve ever seen. Be aware that you will stand in line (around the corner from the front door) to purchase tickets so that you can return to the queue and stand in line to go inside. Be sure to add the rooftop option (with elevator ride, don’t be cheap, you’ll be sucking wind) to your ticket. It’s worth every. single. penny.
When you get to the top (be sure to wear shoes that won’t slip!) keep in mind that there is only one way in and one way out. The walkways can be pretty narrow, especially when people are coming from opposite directions. No one is very interested in stopping to let others by, so you’ll have to squeeze on through.
Take your time and enjoy the details of the architecture. Climb around the roof and take it all in. Look for the Alps in the distance. The views are spectacular!
Stay tuned to follow our adventures through Milan!
