An Italian Christmas

The last couple of years, I was so sick of the cold and gloomy weather, that I agreed to somewhere warm and sunny for Christmas.  This year I decided that, although that was wonderful, going in December ruined my Christmas mojo so  instead I planned a trip to visit the Italian Christmas markets.  So we hopped a plane to Milan and headed for adventure!

A few days at the Excelsior Hotel Gallia was beyond anything that we could have imagined.  It is literally steps from Milano Centrale Train Station and a guilty pleasure that I look forward to indulging in again.

Check in was simple and our associate accompanied us to our suite to give us a tour.  Two sitting areas, a dining table, a steam shower and floor lighting on a sensor to show our way to the bathroom at night.  The view of the beautiful station and the Alps in the background was a nice touch!

One of the perks of staying at this property was the availability of a courtesy car – along with a driver. Calling Salvatore to take me shopping in the Mazerati was awesome!

Wandering the Christmas markets exactly what I went there to do!  Finding little trinkets and drinking melted chocolate made for a wonderful time!  We strolled through the markets around the Milan Cathedral, and were surprised with more when we got to Lake Como and Verona.  I couldn’t have asked for a better time to visit these wonderful little towns.
