A little fun in the sun for Christmas!
After looking at the dreary skies and snowfall for weeks, who doesn’t need a little sunshine to boost the spirits! A quick flight to the southern Caribbean and all cares melt away. I found the most perfect and secluded spot at the Hilton Barbados Resort to soak up the sun, hidden below the infinity pool’s waterfall. When I wasn’t there, I was napping on the mattress under the cabana off the side of the pool deck. So much peace listening to the ocean!
I had convinced myself that I would take a taxi to the resort and never leave the beach, but who was I kidding? I can’t stand not to see every single inch of a place! We caught a ride to the middle of town and went exploring. Of course, we found a local more than willing to give us his personal tour of the island. He showed us all the major sites, gave us some history, and drove us by where Rhianna and Simon Cowell stay while vacationing on the island. Anyone who knows what a celebrity stalker I am knows that was my favorite part!
They say that monkeys are so prevalent that they are a nuisance. Can’t prove that by me, we roamed the entire island and I didn’t see ONE!
Since it was Christmas, the local elementary school brought a group of children to sing during a special holiday event at the hotel. The little girl singing “Mary, Did You Know” was so sweet, I watched grown men cry!
